The Grim Reaper's Ark

In the silence of the night, when the stars refuse to shine,
The Reaper sets his sail, in the sea of the divine.
Souls aboard his ghostly ark, whispers fill the dark,
Bound for fiery realms, on a journey stark.

Shadows dance upon the waves, to the Reaper's solemn tune,
The ark glides past forgotten graves, beneath the waning moon.
No return from this last trip, the final port is near,
The gates of hell aglow, as the souls peer.

The air grows warm, the sky alight, with embers of despair,
The ark reaches the shore, in the hellfire's glare.
The Reaper's work is done, as he turns away,
Leaving souls at the gates, where they shall stay.
Where they shall stay

In the quiet of the dawn, the ark fades from view,
The Reaper's voyage ends, as the day breaks anew.
But when the night returns, and the stars hide their spark,
Again he'll guide the lost, on his grim ark.
